Carter Jonas, the UK property consultancy, has submitted a planning application on behalf of Building Partnerships Ltd. and the landowners to Mid Suffolk District Council for phase two of Stowmarket Business & Enterprise Park.
The site, known as Stowmarket EAST, extends over 54 acres and is set to deliver a mixture of employment uses and facilities. It is capable of accommodating buildings from 10,000 to 200,000 sq ft and will provide occupiers with a range of design and build opportunities in line with the Local Plan from 2017 with the potential for future expansion.
Outline planning permission has now been formally submitted for up to 530,000 sq ft of storage and distribution, manufacturing and office accommodation over 32 acres with associated infrastructure works and amenities including a family pub and drive-through restaurants.
Stowmarket EAST is part of the wider 195-acre Stowmarket Business Park, which is situated midway between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. It is well-located at Junction 50 of the A14 in the busy market of Stowmarket in Suffolk with the Port of Felixstowe 25 miles to the east and Cambridge 45 miles to the west.
Will Mooney (Partner), Carter Jonas said: “There is pent up demand for business space in Stowmarket and a significant lack of supply with availability rates for industrial at a 10-year low. Stowmarket EAST will deliver new high-quality space at a scale to meet the needs of businesses looking to base their business in the region.
“Interest has already been strong with several pre-let enquiries from local, regional and national business across a variety of sectors. Enabling employment land to be released will in turn unlock additional economic growth with the construction phase of the development estimated to deliver over 200 jobs alone.”
Carter Jonas has been appointed as the letting and sales agent for Stowmarket EAST.
